From Lakes to Canals to the Ocean

In 2016, we decided to move the boat to our familiar cruising grounds in New England.

We wove our way through four of the Great Lakes, rode down some canals, and followed the Erie Canal out to sea. Then we swooped around Manhattan Island and cruised up to Rhode Island, where the boat stayed for four seasons.

From Michigan to Rhode Island via lakes and canals

The calendar is pretty sparse, because we only have a general idea what our plans are.

Late May-June   Return to the boat, get launched, and begin our journey north.
June   North Channel and the northernmost parts of Lake Huron.
July-August Cruise Lake Michigan, this time the northernmost part.
September   Prepare for winter storage on Lake Michigan.
Sometime between September and early October   Return to Florida.
